ANDISHEH NOWRUZ WEEK GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Lake Oswego City Hall: Lake Oswego, Oregon
Tuesday, 3/18, 2:55pm: City of Lake Oswego Proclamation by Mayor Joe Buck, who will proclaim Thursday, March 20, 2025, as the City of Lake Oswego’s first-ever Day of Nowruz (15 minutes). Even if you’re not a Lake Oswego resident, you’re still welcome to come.
Location: 380 A Ave., Lake Oswego, OR, 97034, second floor
Please no political activities, flags, chanting, etc. The only thing to bring is your support so that the city leaders can see us!
Portland City Hall: Portland, Oregon
Wednesday, 3/19 – Friday, 3/28, during regular business hours: Haft-seen table display and Nowruz educational exhibit
Location: 1221 SW 4th Ave, Portland, OR, 97204. In North Atrium, first floor (turn to the right after you go through Security)
State Capitol: Salem, Oregon
Thursday, 3/20, 11am: Nowruz House Floor Opening Ceremony (2 minutes)
– Bahram Bahmanyar will read a poem about Nowruz
– Haft-seen table display on that day only, located in the second floor lobby

The Andisheh Center has been promoting Iranian cultural heritage in the Portland area for the past 25 years. HB 3768 would establish March 21st as Oregon’s official Day of Nowruz. At some point there will be a public hearing on it, so please keep an eye out for updates on the Andisheh website at andisheh.org
